Ellen Pearson, the ex-wife of the late Robert Kardashian, has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Kardashian family claiming they have portrayed her as a shameless gold-digger on their reality show.
The Wrap reported Pearson filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court citing defamation, public disclosure of private facts, intentional infliction of emotional distress and conspiracy. She names Kris Jenner and daughters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, along with Ryan Seacrest Productions.
The suit claims the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" producers sent a private investigator to try and sell Ellen Kardashian damaging info about the reality fam to make her look like a blackmailer, TheWrap notes.
“When Ellen refused to engage in such a discussion or transaction, Jake (private investigator) abruptly and menacingly terminated the dialogue by threatening to turn the information over to the Kardashians," the lawsuit, obtained by RadarOnline.com, states. “[A]fter the alleged attempt to entrap Ellen into the drama of their scripted reality television production, the Defendants are left to concoct an untruthful story line and script to air on The Kardashians.”
In documents obtained by TMZ, Pearson calls Jenner a "manipulative and devious mother and ex-wife who simply used and exploited her children" and says the family's careers are meaningless.
Pearson has been a contentious figure in the Kardashians' lives. Back in April, the Kardashians filed a lawsuit against Pearson over personal items belonging to their father. They believe those items rightfully belong to them.
In a June episode of "KUWTK," Jenner lamented about Pearson selling excerpts from her ex-husband's supposed diary to the press that portrayed her in a bad light. The family has said Pearson, who married the late lawyer in 2003 just weeks before he died of esophageal cancer, wed Kardashian on his deathbed.
