Alan Grayson Fears A World Where 'Dictator Palin' Rules Domestic Spying Programs

Alan Grayson On NSA Spying: 'Dictator Palin' Could Rule The U.S.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) recently stressed the need to rein in domestic spying programs by expressing concern that the U.S. could one day be controlled by "Dictator Sarah Palin."

In an interview with LA activist Lauren Steiner, part of which was posted on Florida blog The Shark Tank on Thursday, the congressman explained a bill he recently introduced, "The Mind Your Own Business Act." The legislation would prohibit Department of Defense funding from going toward gathering U.S. citizens' personal information without probable cause or evidence of a criminal offense.

To explain why his bill was necessary, Grayson described what he considered to be a terrifying future prospect: a country ruled by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R).

"I heard Rush Limbaugh almost ranting incoherently about this just a few days ago on the radio. He is very concerned about the fact that ‘Dictator Obama’ can get this information. I’m more concerned about the possibility that Dictator Palin can get this information," Grayson said.

Grayson expressed a similar fear in a recent fundraising letter, urging readers to wonder, "What Would President Palin Do?" In 2011, Grayson wrote a blog post for The Huffington Post about Palin titled, "10 Reasons Why Sarah Palin Will Never Be President."
