Emma Roberts Tries To Skip Cronut Line And Gets Rejected From Bakery

Emma Roberts DENIED Cronut After She Tried To Skip The Line

Celebrities are used to getting special treatment, but no one is getting special treatment when it comes to the elusive Cronut, as Emma Roberts learned.

On Thursday, the 22-year-old actress was turned away from the Dominique Ansel Bakery after she and her publicist tried to skip the legendary line that forms in the wee hours every morning. According to the Daily Mail, after Roberts and her rep were told there was absolutely no line cutting when it comes to scoring Cronuts -- the croissant/donut hybrid -- the actress went to the back of the line, but soon learned the bakery was out of the pastry for the day.

While most business owners would welcome celebrity promotion and let someone like Roberts cut the line, the Cronut is already so overhyped it needs no outside help. Tourists and New Yorkers alike line up as early as 6 a.m., as shown here in a photo by HuffPost's Crime and Weird News editor Andy Campbell:

But this story does have a happy ending -- for the actress, at least. When Roberts appeared on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" that evening she recounted the embarrassing story, and because Fallon just so happens to be a "friend" of Cronut creator Dominique Ansel, he was able to pull strings and get Roberts that Cronut she so desperately wanted. Ugh.
