Tim Tebow's Patriots Debut Includes Errant Passes, Running Plays And ESPN Tweets (VIDEO/GIF)

WATCH: Tebow Makes His Patriots Debut

The game clock struck Tebow Time a bit earlier than expected on Friday night.

The most scrutinized and lionized third-string signal caller in the NFL made his debut for the New England Patriots in the second quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles after Tom Brady's understudy, Ryan Mallet, left the game following a hard hit.

Cue the exclamation points from Bristol...

After taking the reins of the Patriots' offense on 1st and 10 from their own 45-yard line, Tebow promptly threw two incompletions. On 3rd and 10, he was sacked for a 10-yard loss.

In his second series, Tebow managed to complete his first pass for New England before halftime.

Back on the field for the third quarter, Tebow helped Legarrette Blount lead the Patriots on an 8-play, 57-yard touchdown drive.

Getting an extended audition to earn a roster spot thanks to Mallet's apparent injury, Tebow finished 4-12 passing for 55 yards and no scores or interceptions. He also rushed four times for 31 yards.

With numbers like those, it was Tebow Time as usual for his critics, supporters and those media members just bemused by the spectacle of it all.

I still have faith in tebow
