This reunion series for "The Real Housewives of Orange County" is supposed to be a good one. The first of three "epic" parts saw the return of former housewife Lauri Waring. After exiting the series four years ago, Lauri popped up with lots of rumors about her one-time friend, Vicki Gunvalson. Specifically, she claimed that Vicki was never faithful to her soon-to-be ex-husband.
Of course, this was all old news, leading Vicki to postulate a new theory as to why Lauri returned. "We’re all ‘famous,’ so to speak, and you couldn’t stand not being in the fame," Vicki said. "Are you [so] miserable in your own life that you have to go destroying others?”
Lauri insisted that she wasn't miserable, but Vicki just wanted Lauri to leave her alone. Lauri tried to counter, saying, "And you leave me ... ”
But Vicki cut her off. "I have left you alone for seven years!” she shouted.
Julie Ryan Evans of The Stir was firmly on Team Vicki, noting that Vicki had already apologized for a supposedly hurtful email from five years ago that Lauri kept bringing up. "[Lauri] came back on the show purposefully to take Vicki down, and she just looks ridiculous for all of the accusations she made," Evans wrote. "Lauri ... wants blood, which is just weird if she's as happy as she claims she is.” Buddy TV's Jennifer Lind-Westbrook suspected the same motives, saying that it made no sense, but it did make for a juicy reunion show.
The reunion continues on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" over the next two Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
