Coupon site recently surveyed 100 married Americans under the age of 35 in order to learn more about their wedding shopping and planning habits -- and the results may surprise you.

    <a href="" target="_blank">Forty-five percent of those surveyed said $2,500</a> is the maximum appropriate amount to spend on an engagement ring.

    Thirty-eight percent said they would <a href="" target="_blank">spend less than $10,000</a> on the wedding.

  • The Website

    <a href="" target="_blank">Thirty percent of married couples</a> said they created their own wedding website.

  • The Registry

    Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Target are the <a href="" target="_blank">most popular places for couples to register.</a>

  • The Ceremony

    Women would much prefer to <a href="" target="_blank">get married in a church</a>, but would rather <a href="" target="_blank">attend a beach wedding. </a>

  • The Gifts

    Men and women had different plans on how to spend their wedding cash. Men were most likely to <a href="" target="_blank">save it or use it to pay off a debt</a>, while women would rather <a href="" target="_blank">put it towards the honeymoon. </a>
