Rainbow And Waterspout Over Baltic Sea Make Quite The Odd Couple (VIDEO)

LOOK: This Isn't Photoshopped

Rainbows often pop up in the most unexpected places.

This week was no different: A Swedish man spotted a rainbow alongside a waterspout over the Baltic Sea.

Filming from a distance, Lars Lundqvist captured the spectacular sight Wednesday morning from his terrace in Snäck, located on the Swedish island of Gotland.

"It was very dramatic out there and I thought I'd take a few stills, but then after 15 minutes I saw a weird, grey pillar and I thought: 'What the hell is that?," the 54-year-old told Sweden's The Local.

A waterspout is a column of cloud-filled wind that may occur when a tornado forms over a body of water. Though the water-based tornadoes vary in size, they tend to appear as thin columns that reach from the clouds to the surface of the water
