According to Deadline, NBC bought a comedy project from "30 Rock" writer Colleen McGuinness, executive produced by Fey and her "30 Rock" partner Robert Carlock.

The pilot, which follows a young woman who reconnects with her father and finds a new home on Fire Island, is the first project for Fey's production company since she signed a new deal with Universal Television in the fall of 2012. Under her new pact, Fey will executive produce, create and possibly star in new projects.

UPDATE: Fey is attached to another new comedy, this one with Matt Hubbard on board as a fellow executive producer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy takes place at an all-girls college that has just started accepting boys. THR reports networks are in a bidding war for the project. Fey is not attached to star.

"She's been a cornerstone of the network for over the past 10 years and there was just no way we were going to let her get away," Robert Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment chairman, said of Fey in 2012. "It's a measure of our esteem for her as a writer, actress and producer -- she's in a class by herself."
