John Oliver Takes Shot At 'Morning Joe'

John Oliver took a shot at "Morning Joe" on Wednesday night, during a mock interview with "Daily Show" correspondent John Hodgman.

Oliver turned to Hodgman — who played the role of a deranged millionaire — to gain some insight on why Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post.

Hodgman said he had just purchased his own D.C. newspaper, the Washington Postier Coupon Clipper Penny Saver, and that his approach to print media would be different from other newspapers. He said, for instance, that his publication would feature product placements in articles.

"No serious news outlet would ever engage in kind of shameless beverage branding," Oliver protested.

"Really John, have you never seen the opening sequence of "Morning joe," brewed by Starbucks?" Hodgman asked.

"Okay, I do think my point about serious news outlets stands, but that's not the point," Oliver responded.
