In a video uploaded to Dr. Phil's YouTube channel on Thursday, the famous TV psychologist offers solid advice to divorcing parents, and all in under a minute.
"There is life after divorce but you have to create it, and you have to be an example for your children," he says.
He continues, "At some point you have to say, 'Look, this is what it is.' You have to say, 'Look, I gotta put my kids needs above my own.' And you want to support their relationship with your partner -- your ex partner. You'll be glad you did in the long run."
Well put, Dr. Phil. We have to agree!

"I've always been the type to fall in love fast and, with every boyfriend, I plan out my wedding in my head," she told the magazine. "It's taught me to take things slow . . . Anyone would want to move on and take the lesson learnt from it. I loved this person, it just wasn't the right situation for me. I try to hold my head up high and live my life."

"A lost year? I don't look at it like that," he said. "Every year you have to find the positives. Even though there are a lot of negatives, I think that's actually a good thing. I learned a lot about myself and how I could become a better person."
