'Glee' Season 5 Promo Shows Drama, Passion And Feeling, But No Cory Monteith (VIDEO)

New 'Glee' Promo Keeps Things Upbeat

The new promo for "Glee" Season 5 is keeping things upbeat despite the tragedy behind the scenes, promising feeling, drama and passion when the show returns on Sept. 26.

Cory Monteith is notably absent from the trailer, which features Sue (Jane Lynch) in a wig, shirtless Sam (Chord Overstreet), flirty glances and killer dance moves, but no new footage from Season 5. We're guessing that the Jake (Jacob Artist)/Marley (Melissa Benoist)/Kitty (Becca Tobin) love triangle will also continue, given that the video reuses clips of Jake with both ladies.

The first two episodes of Season 5 will be a Beatles tribute, while Episode 3 will deal with Monteith's death and write his character, Finn Hudson, out of the show.

"Basically, what we’re doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died," creator Ryan Murphy recently told Deadline. "The idea being, how somebody died is interesting and maybe morbid, but we say very early on in the episode, 'This episode is about a celebration of that character’s life.' That might be weird for some people, but it felt really exploitative to do it any other way."

"Glee" Season 5 premieres Thursday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
