Nate Berkus' Best Design Tips For Stylish Pet Owners (VIDEO)

Making the case for decorating for dogs.

Nate Berkus has been catering to a different clientele lately. Since teaming up with Beneful for their Dream Dog Park contest, his focus these days are on our four-legged friends.

We sat down with Berkus to discuss some ways pet owners can keep their dogs happy and their home stylish. Instead of just tossing your pet's toys in a bin or on the floor for instance, Berkus recommends using a cute basket -- it also doesn't hurt to have the toys match the decor. "We have two baskets in different rooms," Berkus said regarding Tucker, his and fiance Jeremiah Brent's pup. "And I'm going to admit to you that I actually care about the color of this stuffed animals -- he has a lot of black, white and neutrals."

Also, DIYing your own dog bed isn't only a great way to save some cash, but also keep your decor scheme on-point. Berkus made Tucker's bed using a low basket, foam and chevron black and white fabric from his own collection. "You can just create your own dog bed to match your own room if you want to," he told us.

He also stopped by The Better Show and talk about other stylish options for pet owners. Watch the video above to see what he had to say, and head over to The Better Show website for more information.
