Doug Mientkiewicz Brawl: Manager Gets Into Altercation During Minor League Game (VIDEO)

WATCH: Ex-MLB Player Turned Manager Starts Brawl

It's been four years since former major league first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz played the final game of his career. Now he's a manager for the Fort Myers Miracle (Twins' Single-A affiliate). During a game on Saturday, he got a little upset with the opposing manager.

In the fourth inning, Mientkiewicz charged out of the dugout, ran toward Bradenton Marauders (Pirates affiliate) manager Frank Kremblas and brought him to the ground, according to the Fort Myers News-Press. Benches cleared and both managers were ejected following the melee.

The incident happened after a Marauders player was plunked, according to Fort Myers play-by-play broadcaster Brice Zimmerman. The announcer also said the hit batter may have been retaliation to a collision at the plate during the game on Friday.

"Doug knows that's not the example we want him to set for our players," said Brad Steil, the Minnesota Twins director of minor leagues, per wtsp.com. "He is a very competitive guy, and he let his emotions get the better of him. "He was very apologetic for what happened, both to me and to the team. He realizes that's not how we want him to represent the Minnesota Twins."

Here's another video with a different angle of the fight.
