WATCH: Bears Rescued From Russia Floods Via Helicopter

Plagued by the worst flooding in over a century, Russia has already evacuated 20,000 people to safety... and now, two brown bears.

Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry found the bears on Saturday near the town of Blagoveshchensk, with rising flood waters less than 7 ft away.

The ministry reported that a veterinarian accompanied the rescuers to sedate the bears, and their cages were airlifted via helicopter.

The Emergency Situations Ministry has already evacuated pets along with chickens and cattle from farms, but this was the first bear rescue.

Both brown bears are now safe and dry.
