Illinois Baby Born In Parking Lot Just Like Her Dad Was 33 Years Earlier

Baby Born In Parking Lot Just Like Her Father 33 Years Earlier

As they say: the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

When Illinois baby Hannah Grace Mary Pavlik was born on Saturday, she entered the world the same way her father had almost 33 years to the day before: in a car in a parking lot.

According to CBS Chicago, Hannah's mother Erica Pavlik, of Yorkville, Ill., was being driven to the hospital by her mother after going into what she had initially believed to be false labor.

But Hannah apparently didn't want to wait until she arrived at the hospital. Erica's water broke, forcing the two to stop at a gas station parking lot in south suburban Oswego, about five miles from her home. She gave birth, with Erica's mother's help, before paramedics could arrive.

Frank Pavlik, Hannah's father, arrived at the parking lot minutes after the birth, just in time to accompany his newborn to the hospital. Frank considered her arrival as an early birthday gift as Hannah was born just one day short of his 33rd birthday.

The kicker? When Frank was born on Aug. 18, 1980, he, too, was unable to wait to arrive at a hospital and was born in a parking lot -- at the Louis Joliet Mall, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Weighing in at 6 pounds and 3 ounces, Hannah was born healthy, per the Associated Press.
