Brazil's FIFA World Cup Gets Requests For Over 1 Million Tickets In First 7 hours

They're Selling Like Hot Cakes

June’s FIFA World Cup matches in Brazil are in hot demand. In the first seven hours of ticket sales Tuesday, more than one million tickets were requested by hundreds of thousands of football fans from Brazil to the U.K.

Brazil, Argentina, U.S., Chile and England are the five countries with the highest amount of ticket hunters so far, FIFA said in a press release this afternoon.

The opening match at the São Paulo Arena had more than 168,000 people requesting tickets, slightly more than the actual final cup match being held at Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro (roughly 165,000 people put in for tickets). Football fans have until October 10 to apply for tickets during this first sales period.
