Lisa Robin Kelly's Death Has Authorities Suspicious, Reportedly Launching Multiple Investigations

Authorities Launch Multiple Investigations Into Lisa Robin Kelly's Cause Of Death

While the cause of death of actress Lisa Robin Kelly has yet to be revealed following an autopsy, TMZ reports that authorities are suspicious of the cause and both the Los Angeles County coroner and the Los Angeles County Sheriff are conducting separate investigations

The 43-year-old died while at a California rehab facility, and law enforcement sources told the website that the county coroner didn't receive call from the treatment center. A doctor at the rehab pronounced the actress dead at 8:07 a.m. on Aug. 15, but the coroner only became aware of the death at noon, when an official read TMZ's story online.

According to TMZ, what has authorities suspicious is that the doctor at Kelly's rehab told the coroner that the former "That '70s Show" star died from an embolism. However, sources told the website that the coroner immediately rejected the doctor's conclusion because that's a diagnosis that would have first required an autopsy.

Kelly had a history of drug and alcohol abuse, but was trying to get clean at the time of her death. According to the website she was taking detox medication, but it is not clear if drugs played a role in her death.
