Bryan Fischer: 90 Percent Of Americans Would Find Gay Sex 'Disgusting, Abhorrent'

The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer took to the airwaves in defense of San Antonio Councilwoman Elisa Chan, whose remarks about the gay community sparked controversy earlier this month.

As Right Wing Watch first reported, Fischer -- whose anti-gay declarations have become a near-weekly staple of his "Focal Point" radio show -- seemed to be applauding Chan, who allegedly referred to being gay as a "behavioral preference" and "disgusting to even to think about" in an unauthorized recording leaked to the press by a secret aide.

Fischer argued that "anyone who is thinking rightly and clearly about homosexuality" would agree with Chan, noting, "I would guarantee you 90 percent of the American people, if they would stop and think about what actually happens in homosexual sexual behavior, they would find it disgusting."

For her part, Chan has refused to apologize for the commentary. "I know many people find the comments made in the meeting offensive," she is quoted by news channel Kens 5 as saying. "But ... it was a confidential meeting set in the privacy of my office where none of us are suppose to worry about what we say."
