UPDATE: A second suspect, Kenan Adams-Kinard, has been named by police.
The Spokane Police Department has arrested a suspect in the brutal beating death of a WWII veteran who was killed in the parking lot of a pool hall.
Demetrius Glenn, 16, was arrested early this morning by police, according to KXLY. The teenager has been charged as an adult and will make a court appearance later today.
There's been a discrepancy on how to spell one of the suspects legal name, but KHQ news reports The County Clerk says that Glenn's first name is Demetrius. They're working on changing court documents which has his first name spelled two different ways.
Delbert Belton, 88, from Spokane, Wash., was pronounced dead Thursday morning after being allegedly beaten to death by Glenn and another teen, who is still at large.
Belton fought in the Battle of Okinawa, where he was shot in the leg but continued fighting. Belton, who friends affectionally called "Shorty," enjoyed playing pool and working on cars.
Belton was Ted Denison's best friend of 23 years, Denison said in an interview with KXLY.
"He was always there for me when I needed him," Denison said. "I thought of him more as a dad than I did a friend really."
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
