Anderson Cooper Mocks Miley Cyrus' VMA Performance: 'It's So Yawningly Formulaic' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Anderson Cooper Mocks Miley Cyrus' VMA Performance

Anderson Cooper put Miley Cyrus and the outrage surrounding her raunchy VMA performance on the RidicuList Monday night.

"It's an affront to stuffed animals, everywhere," Cooper said of Cyrus' performance, his tone dripping with mockery. "That's what people are upset about, right?"

Cooper jokingly praised the VMAs for the show's "magnificent duets," and likened Cyrus and Robin Thicke's collaboration to when Salvador Dali did the illustration for limited edition printing of Cervantes' "Don Quixote." "In this conceit, Dali is Miley Cyrus, Cervantes is Robin Thicke," Cooper said.

He said of Cyrus' performance, "It was provocative! It was shocking! It was pro-shock-ative! And people are outraged—outraged I tell you! And that of course is the whole point. It's all so yawningly formulaic. Frankly, the only way Miley Cyrus could shock me with a VMA performance would be to play a heartfelt and original composition on the guitar and to actually sing."
