Darrelle Revis To Richard Sherman: 'You've Got To Earn It'

Revis To Sherman: 'You've Got To Earn It'

Here's a sign that the NFL season is rapidly approaching. The verbal feud between two of the game's best cornerbacks, Tampa Bay's Darrelle Revis and Seattle's Richard Sherman, started up again on Wednesday.

Speaking with USA Today Sports, Revis said that Sherman "needs to quit attaching his career to my career" and doesn't "need to be getting into it with me." Then, the four-time Pro Bowler had one more message for Sherman, who is well-known for his trash talking.

"You can't crown yourself as anything in this league," Revis told Jarrett Bell of USA Today Sports. "You've got to earn it."

The war of words between the two began back in January when Sherman tweeted a picture of his stats along with Revis' and wrote, "Women lie, men lie, numbers don't lie."

In February, the two argued on Twitter about who's the better cornerback.

Sherman elaborated his feelings about Revis on former ESPN show NFL32.

“I guess he’s mad, you know,” Sherman said, via James Walker of ESPN. "Something is going on his side where he’s upset. But he’s been out of the game for a year. What have you done for me lately? That’s the game. That’s how it is and that’s how it’s going to be.”
