Majority Of Americans Oppose Defunding Obamacare: Poll

The One Obamacare Issue Most Americans Can Agree About

A majority of Americans agree that cutting off funding for Obamacare is a bad idea, according to a recent poll.

The poll, conducted by the nonprofit health policy firm the Kaiser Family Foundation, found that 57 percent of Americans disapprove of withholding funding to implement President Barack Obama's 2010 Affordable Care Act.

Of those people who disapproved of withholding funding, nearly 70 percent said the appropriate way to get rid of the law would be repeal it or to have never passed it in the first place. Here is a deeper look at the results:

The poll's findings come as Republican lawmakers are using a variety of tactics aimed at delaying or scrapping funding for key Obamacare programs.

But while most Americans may be able to agree that cutting off Obamacare funds is not the right course of action, the nation still remains divided when it comes to the law itself. Some 42 percent of poll respondents oppose Obamacare, while 37 percent support the law, according to Kaiser.
