Ginger Slepski, Pittsburgh Woman Beaten By Teens, Claims Alleged Robbery Was 'Racially Motivated'

Four black teens who allegedly beat a white woman after throwing a bottle at her car face charges including ethnic intimidation and juvenile counts of robbery and conspiracy.

Ginger Slepski, 32, told WPXI that the girls beat her while calling her racial slurs.

“I thought it was so animalistic. So violent. I’m so afraid for these girls to get out and walk the streets,” Slepski told the station. “They yelled, ‘Shut up white [expletive].’ The other said, ‘Get that white [expletive]'... I do feel like it was very racially motivated.”

The suspects, whose names have not been released, are all female minors between the ages of 14 and 16. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, witnesses said one of the teens threw a bottle at the victim's car when it was stopped at an intersection Sunday night.

"She gets out to address it, and that's when the girls jump her," Lt. Shirley Sloan told the newspaper.

Slepski, a mother of two, had left the scene by the time police arrived, but officers interviewed witnesses, who said that the girls knocked the victim to the ground, took her purse from her car, and ran away.

Slepski told WPXI that witnesses were too afraid to help her.

“Another woman was yelling at the girls, ‘I’m calling the police!’ And it’s like it only made it worse,” Slepski said.
