Deadline.com debuted the first trailer for James Franco's latest directorial effort, "Child of God." The film, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy, stars Scott Haze as the title character, a loner who becomes a serial killer in the 1960s. (As is typical of McCarthy, the novel is filled with some horrifying imagery.) Franco and Tim Blake Nelson co-star in the film, which Franco also adapted for the screen. "Child of God" debuts at this week's Venice Film Festival, the third Franco film this year to bow at a prestigious film fest. Deadline.com has more on those features; watch the "Child of God" trailer above.
