Clotilde Courau's Venice Film Festival Appearance Is Fit For A Princess (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Princess Hits The Red Carpet At Venice Film Festival

The kind of "royalty" we're used to seeing on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival is of the Hollywood variety, but sometimes the stars align and we get pretty close to the real thing. Enter, Clotilde Courau.

The French actress, also known as the Princess of Venice and Piedmont, arrived at the 70th Venice Film Festival’s opening ceremony and premiere of "Gravity" yesterday looking equal parts celebrity and princess. Wearing an Alberta Ferretti scalloped jacket and a black Mikado silk skirt, Courau was the definition of refined elegance.

One would think she was a true blue-blooded noble, no? On the contrary, the César-nominated star is married to Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, the grandson of the last king of Italy. The prince doesn't reign and his title isn't recognized by Italy, but he's still known as the Prince of Venice and Piedmont in monarchist circles -- which is royal enough for us. See Courau's stunning turn on the Venice Film Festival red carpet below.
