Looking to head out for one awesome end-of-summer hurrah but not sure where to go? We did the planning for you. So grab your beau -- and go!
1. Santa Barbara, CA
Imagine a world with no traffic and no overcrowded streets. Add in great food, unbelievably delicious wine, endless miles of beach and plenty of breathtaking views. Welcome to the American Riviera, folks. With so much to do, see and eat (duh!), you'll spend the weekend feeling like you're in a romantic foreign country.
Take in a concert, a film or, hell, just spend the night soaking up all that wine.
For some extra special alone time, book a stay at the Secret Garden Inn & Cottages, where you can escape to your own little hideaway.
2. Philadelphia, PA
Beneath all that history, there's actually tons to do in Philly for a weekend with your SO. In the city (and outside), you can stroll through shops, take in the city-scape or countryside and wine and dine your way through Pennsylvania's best kept secret.
Suit up for an afternoon of sweat and high-flying fun while you two rock climb, or test your Revolutionary knowledge with a tour of Valley Forge. You don't have to be a history buff to have a good time (the reenactments are comedy enough!).

3. Lake George, NY
Gorgeous sunny afternoons and cool, crisp nights make spending a long weekend nestled away in Lake George the best of both worlds. Spend the day at the beach, boating, or skip the sand for an afternoon at the pool. Stock up on tasty local-grown fruits and veggies at all the area farmers’ markets, and hit the skies in a hot air balloon ride.
If you're a camper, head out to Lake George Island for a night with nature, otherwise, an all-inclusive package sounds just as fun, right?
4. Savannah, GA
Hot lazy days that feel like a never-ending summer? Where can we sign up? Not to mention, the hazy southern drawl of it all will shake the romance in you awake (and you'll love it!).
Stroll River Street together, or take in the wander through the historic districts arm-in-arm. For a cozy stay, try the Olde Harbour Inn.
5. Virginia Beach, VA
The beach, the sand, some ice-cold brews and your beau at your side -- could anything top this? Nope. So pack up and hit the road (because you don’t want to waste any time in traffic).
Hang close to the Chesapeake Bay beach for sand, surf and a few rounds of volleyball. For dinner, hit the 11th Street Taphouse Bar and Grille for a thrill your tastebuds will love.
Folks in the area love the Barclay Cottage for its rest, romance and total relaxation. Our guess is you will, too.
6. Kennebunkport, ME
Have two things together ever made more sense than endless lobster and a few nights away with your love? Didn't think so.
Set sail for a ride on Schrooner Eleanor of Kennebunk (and you might even see a whale!) and dine on delicious fresh lobster at the Admiral’s Table. At night, cozy up to your lover at Cabot Cove Cottages and let the sound of the waves in the distance rock you to sleep.
7. Denver, CO
What can't you do in Denver? It's an active couple's dream come true (and the perfect place to laze away all weekend, filling up on the gorgeous craft beers and the satisfying eats).
Be sure to hit up the Taste of Colorado Festival, as well as the Colorado State Fair while you're in town.
Book your stay at Hotel Teatro and get a boozy pair of brewery tour tickets on the house! Don't you like Denver already?
