Alan Grayson To Alex Witt: 'You're Misquoting Me' On Syria

Dem Rep To MSNBC Host: 'You're Misquoting Me'

Tension arose between Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) and MSNBC's Alex Witt on Sunday as Grayson declared, "It's simply not our responsibility" to intervene in Syria.

The interview grew heated after the “Weekends with Alex Witt” host quoted Grayson as questioning the validity of a chemical attack in Syria. Grayson argued his statement was before "substantial evidence" had emerged, accusing Witt of "misquoting me and quoting me out of context."

They also butted heads over whether or not France would back a military strike against Syrian President Bashar Assad's government.

"Nobody wants this except the military-industrial complex," Grayson had previously stated on SiriusXM's "The Agenda with Ari Rabin-Havt" last Thursday.

A HuffPost/YouGov poll conducted last Wednesday revealed that just 25 percent of Americans support air strikes to help Syrian rebels.
