Dianna Agron Not Invited To 'Glee' Tribute For Cory Monteith, Unsure Of Future With Show

Dianna Agron was not asked back for the "Glee" tribute episode to Cory Monteith, according to the New York Post.

In an interview with the Post promoting her new movie "The Family," Agron said she's unsure whether she'll return to the show at all this season. Following her character Quinn's graduation in "Glee" Season 3, Agron only appeared in a handful of Season 4 episodes and was not listed as a series regular. "I think moving on might be the wrong choice of words because ["Glee"] is always going to be a part of me and with me and I would always go back," she said. "So it’s not necessarily about a departure. It’s about what it's imparted in me and what it's given me."

Original "Glee" cast members Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Jayma Mays are all returning for the tribute episode dedicated to Monteith and his character Finn Hudson. Harry Schum Jr., Dot-Marie Jones, Mike O'Malley and Romy Rosemont will also appear in the episode. Agron and Heather Morris are not scheduled to appear.

Monteith died from a drug overdose in July.

“He was truly one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met in my entire life," Agron said, "and that’s something that everybody can say about him, you know?”

The third episode of "Glee" Season 5 will be the tribute episode dedicated to Monteith. His character will die on the show, but viewers may never learn how.

"Basically, what we’re doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died," series co-creator Ryan Murphy told Deadline. "The idea being, how somebody died is interesting and maybe morbid, but we say very early on in the episode, 'This episode is about a celebration of that character’s life.' That might be weird for some people, but it felt really exploitative to do it any other way."

"Glee" Season 5 premieres Thursday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
