The Happiest State In America Has Country's Worst Traffic

The Happiest State In The U.S. Also Has The Worst Traffic

This one certainly is a head scratcher.

It doesn't seem all that surprising that Hawaii ranked number one in Gallup-Healthways Well-Being index for the happiest state, except for one little inconsistency. Honolulu -- on the most densely populated island, O'ahu, in Hawaii -- ranks no. 2 nationwide for cities with the worst traffic. The average Honolulu resident will sit in traffic for 58 hours annually.

Happy people, terrible traffic? It must be what they call "driving with Aloha."
