Valerie Harper is heading back into the spotlight on "Dancing With the Stars." The "Mary Tyler Moore" actress will dance with Tristan MacManus on Season 17 of "DWTS." The cast was officially announced on Wednesday, Sept. 4 on "Good Morning America."

Harper made headlines earlier in 2013 when she announced her battle with cancer. At the time of her announcement, doctors said she had mere months to live. However, after rumors of her involvement with "Dancing With the Stars" first broke, her doctor said Harper's cancer is close to remission.

"The brain scans that you get every two months are looking better and better and better ... They are just delighted that I'm moving in the right direction. As my husband said, 'Let's just buy you time now,'" Harper said on "GMA."

"Dancing With the Stars" Season 17 premieres Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
