For anyone doubting the severity of the head injury that has kept him from training for England's upcoming World Cup qualifiers, Wayne Rooney has a few photos for you to review.

The 27-year-old striker has withdrawn from training with the England squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Moldova after suffering a head injury while training with Manchester United. Rooney opened a gash on his forehead during an accidental clash with teammate Phil Jones, according to The Guardian.

To Rooney's displeasure, his toughness was questioned after it was reported that he was sidelined.

"If he takes a quick look into the album of 'football hurts' photographs, Rooney might feel a little embarrassed by his cut head excuse," wrote Adrian Durhan of the Daily Mail.

After teammate Michael Carrick lashed out the doubters on his behalf, Rooney decided to fire back at his critics and share photos of the gruesome gash on Facebook.
