49ers running back Anthony Dixon has worn the No. 24 since his high school days. So when free agent Nnamdi Asomugha signed with the Niners in the offseason and approached Dixon about possibly buying the jersey number off of him for the upcoming season—Asomugha wore No. 24 during his time with the Eagles after wearing No. 21 with the Raiders—Dixon refused to give it up. And even when the cornerback offered him $24,000 for the number, Dixon wouldn't budge.

"We tried to go $24K for 24, but I told him, 'No, I'm going to keep my 24,'" he revealed recently. "I worked hard to get that number when I first got here. I worked hard to get it off somebody else. I've been No. 24 since high school and college."

So instead of wearing No. 24, Asomugha is going to roll with No. 28 this season. That is, unless he's willing to put up a little extra dough. Money talks, and we bet that Dixon would be willing to come up off of No. 24…for the right price. Got another offer, Nnamdi?
