Man Scalped By Toy Helicopter

A man was killed in Brooklyn on Thursday after a toy helicopter fell and struck him in the head.

The 19-year-old man lost control of the remote-control operated machine near Bay 44th St. and Shore Parkway in Gravesend when it fell, the rotor blades reportedly scalping him, ABC reports.

PIX11 reports paramedics at the scene pronounced him dead on arrival.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified by the Wall Street Journal as Roman Pirozek Jr.

The incident occurred at Calvert Vaux Park, a popular destination for fans of model aircraft. Law enforcement officials tell NBC Pirozek had been attempting a trick with the remote-control helicopter before the accident happened.
