If all the "bare" looks you've seen so far at New York Fashion Week have put you to sleep, then this beauty trend is sure to wake you up.
Orange lips and nails were the brightest accessory on the Spring 2014 runways at Rag & Bone, Creatures of the Wind and Suno. The citrus color popped against the models' glowing complexions, and it also paired perfectly with black-and-white basics and outlandish floral prints.
Makeup artist Gucci Westman sparked this orange crush at Rag & Bone with a matte lip color inspired by the Brazil World Cup -- the first bold lip look the brand has ever done for a show. To contrast the icy green eyeshadow look at Creatures of the Wind, NARS director of global artistry James Boehmer used Timanfaya Satin Lip Pencil (new for spring) and Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil for a satin, textured orange lip. Then we spotted nail artist Honey (with her flaming red curly 'fro) backstage at Suno painting on Maybelline Orange Fix nail polish. The cool nail color complemented all the various skin tones of the models.
Move over, leopard print! We've found the new neutral.
