I will never think of hot rollers the same after what I saw backstage at Jeremy Scott's Spring 2014 show.
As British hairstylist Eugene Souleiman and his team prepped the models' hair to wear '50s-inspired wigs, I spotted one assistant in the corner setting the curlers with a... fabric steamer. (Check out the video below!) But don't get any wild idea to try this on your own head.
Medium-sized curlers were added to jet black synthetic wigs and then blasted with the steamer. Once cool, the curlers were removed and brushed out into a flipped-up hairdo with side-swept bangs.
For the finishing touches to this retro look, MAC Cosmetics lead makeup artist Kubuki created a winged-out liner using a plum shadow. Then celebrity manicurist Pattie Yankee outfitted the models' nails with oval-shaped press-ons painted in Void, a black nail color from her signature polish collection.
