Man And Dog Rescued From Drainage Culvert In Colorado Flood

Seeing Impaired Man And Dog Rescued From Drainage Culvert

A seeing impaired man and his service dog had to be rescued after they were both sucked into a drainage culvert in Denver.

The Denver Fire Department said it sent in a water rescue team to an area near 13th Avenue and Xenia Street on Friday morning and the Denver Police Department Tweeted a picture of the location.

"As far as he went, he is extremely fortunate," Denver Police Department spokesman Sonny Jackson told The Denver Post. "It's a good thing he didn't get hung up on something underground."

The man, who is said to be 50-years-old, was not identified and is being treated at a hospital. Denver Animal Control will be caring for the dog, according to Denver Police.
