Marilyn Monroe's Famous 'Seven Year Itch' Scene Was Shot On Sept. 15, 1954

Marilyn's Famous Day

Sept. 15 marks the anniversary of the day Marilyn Monroe shot the famous "Seven Year Itch" scene that had her wearing an iconic white dress and standing over a New York City subway grate. The late actress is shown laughing as her dress is blown up by the wind, an image that became almost as famous as Monroe herself.

Monroe, who died in 1962 at the age of 36, starred in "The Seven Year Itch" as simply The Girl, a woman who is the object of a married man's affection. Led by director Billy Wilder, "The Seven Year Itch" also starred Tom Ewell, Evelyn Keyes, and Sonny Tufts, among others.
