This week on Mondays With Marlo, Alan Alda told me about the first time he was hypnotized. When he was an out-of-work actor, Alan got paid $25 to participate in a psychiatric study where he was hypnotized. He told me that there was no doubt in his mind that it worked! Today, he puts himself into a hypnotic trance when he's in unpleasant situations -- like when he's getting an MRI.
