David Fincher loves him some Robin Thicke. That's at least one takeaway from the news that Fincher has cast model Emily Ratajkowski, who starred in Thicke's "Blurred Lines" video, as Ben Affleck's college-aged mistress in "Gone Girl." TheWrap was first to report on Ratajkowski's casting, while noting that the role was "hotly contested" among young Hollywood actresses.
Ratajkowski, the 21-year-old model who appeared in various stages of undress in Thicke's controversial video, joins a cast that already includes Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Tyler Perry, Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Fugit and Kim Dickens.
Over the summer, Rolling Stone helpfully provided an explainer on Ratajkowski, including help with the pronunciation of her last name. "The J is silent," she said. "That's the trick. Occasionally people get it right on the first try, just through random luck. People have told me to change it over the years, but my dad is always saying, 'Never change your name!' My middle name is O'Hara, so it's a pretty epic name. Emily O'Hara Ratajkowski."
