Senate Resumes Energy Efficiency Bill Debate (VIDEO)

The Senate took up bipartisan energy efficiency legislation last week, but didn't make much progress before the close of business on Thursday evening. Debate on the measure was bogged down by an attempt from Senate Republicans to force a vote to delay the implementation of health care reform measures.

The energy legislation, from Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio), includes provisions that call for improved building codes, create incentives for the use of more efficient products, and fund the research and development of more energy-efficient technologies.

HuffPost Live spoke with Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune on Monday morning about what to expect this week, as the Senate resumes debate on the bill. Watch the video above.
