Black Hair Icons Celebrated At Star-Studded Dinner, Who Inspires Your 'Do? (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

What do Josephine Baker, Pam Grier, Halle Berry, Diana Ross and Solange Knowles have in common? Yes, they are all talented, beautiful and inspiring women-- to say the least. But they are also a few of our favorite hair icons.

From Josephine's perfectly primped pixie to Solange's awesome Afro, there is a list of lovely ladies who have definitely inspired how we manipulate our manes. In celebration of that undeniable influence, a bevy of beauties-- including model Jessica White, singer Bridget Kelly, image activist Michaela Angela Davis, the Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Donna Karan, Felita Harris, and several NYC tastemakers -- gathered at the end of New York Fashion Week to toast to those hair icons and the beauty of black women.

The intimate dinner, which took place at the Mondrian SoHo hotel, was hosted by the hair company Beautiful Textures (owned by Strength of Nature) in partnership with BET Networks and Cadillac.

"It's such a wonderful journey to watch women discovering themselves," Charlene Dance, Strength of Nature's Global Marketing Director, told the attendees. "We believe that every woman no matter what she is going through economically or emotionally deserves the right to be beautiful. We accept, we embrace and we try very much to make sure we acknowledge that every single one of us are uniquely beautiful -- none the same, but are uniquely beautiful in our own right."

That sentiment of singular beauty was also projected in a fabulous video, chock-full of our favorite fabulously coiffed celebs and played throughout the event.
