Louis C.K. was named a winner at the 65th annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held Sunday at the Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater.
The Mexican American comedian earned an Emmy for writing the standup special “Louis C.K.: Oh My God,” which aired on HBO in April 2013. The 46-year-old wasn’t present at the ceremony – which honors excellence in behind-the-scenes work in entertainment – but was name-dropped during the evening by actress Melissa Leo.
Leo, who took home the award for “Guest Actress in a Comedy” for her stint on C.K.’s series “Louie,” thanked the producer/writer/actor profusely for giving her the role of a lifetime.
