It might just be time for us to adjust our expectations when it comes to Pippa Middleton's style. We love the almost-royal; we really do. But her latest look has thrown us off.
The party planner hit up the launch of the new Serpentine Sackler Gallery in London wearing a Matthew Williamson cocktail dress that would've fit in perfectly at a Jay Gatsby party... on acid. The teal feathered number, chosen from the designer's Pre-Fall 2013 collection, featured a drop waist and Vegas-style plumage at the hem. Paired with matchy-matchy blue pumps and Pippa's signature heavy eyeliner, this ensemble didn't really sit well with us.
The socialite spent the party rubbing shoulders with the likes of Mayor of London Boris Johnson, Lord Maurice Saatchi, Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter (aka her boss) and Jemima Khan. We imagine an obligatory outfit compliment meandered its way into the conversation at some point.
Alas, we still can't wrap our heads around why Pips must distract from her natural beauty with all of these bells and whistles. Our suggestion for next time? She should go sleek and simple -- it worked at her sister's wedding.
