We can tell they meant well.

But the Minnesota Vikings marked Hispanic Heritage Month with a hilariously unfortunate tweet as they prepared for a game against Cleveland on Sunday:

"We are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month at today's game. #BeatTheBrowns"

It didn't take long before football fans noticed the hashtag's double meaning.

The tweet has been deleted, according to Latino Rebels, one of the first to note the electronic gaffe.

They stuck with the hashtag to the bitter end, however.

The digital rallying cry wasn't enough to lead to victory. The Browns won 31 - 27.
