Red Bull 'Titanic' Ad Receives Complaints, Remains On Airwaves (VIDEO)

WATCH: Should This Red Bull Ad Be Pulled?

A recent Red Bull ad is causing controversy in the U.K. for its potentially offensive subject matter.

The ad, embedded above, depicts a man loading Red Bull energy drinks on a cruise ship. The ship's captain tells the docker that only Champagne is allowed on the boat. "But Red Bull gives you wings," the docker argues.

The captain responds, "Wings? Why on Earth would you need wings on a ship? Stupidest thing I've ever heard."

Then, it is revealed that the ship's name is the Titanic.

Although the U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority has received more than 100 complaint about the ad, the watchdog group decided not to pursue the matter further. The Authority explained:

"Although the ad would be distasteful to some, it was unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence [sic] or be generally seen as making light of the lives that were lost in the disaster."

What do you think -- cheeky advertisement or offensive content?
