Famous Songs That Peaked At No. 2

With multiple albums that have gone multi-platinum and even diamond, it would be a safe guess that Bruce Springsteen would have at least one single to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Unfortunately for The Boss however, that is not the case. Springsteen's "Born in the U.S.A." peaked at a mediocre No. 9, while the closest he got to the top of the chart was with 1984's "Dancing in the Dark" which reached No. 2.

Springsteen isn't alone. Many other artists have seen wildly popular songs peak at No. 2 on the Billboard chart. Take a sampling of some of the most famous No. 2 singles below.
