If Carlos Beltran does not officially own October yet then he may simply be leasing with the option to buy.

In his second at-bat of the 2013 MLB postseason, the 36-year-old, switch-hitter crushed a three-run home run into the second deck at Busch Stadium off Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher A.J. Burnett. The towering 443-foot drive was the 15th career postseason home run for Beltran and moved him into a tie with Babe Ruth for eighth place on the all-time playoff homer list.

The deep drive to right-field staked the Cardinals to an early 3-0 lead over the Pirates in Game 1 of the National League Division Series. CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Beltran homered in his first at-bat of the game.
