The "Castle" and "Firefly" star -- who visited the set last year as a fan -- will play Bob Waite, "the politically savvy head custodian who’s not afraid to get his hands dirty but is smart enough to wear rubber gloves." Annie (Alison Brie) and Professor Hickey (guest star Jonathan Banks) will encounter Fillion's character when they team up to "navigate Greendale's corridors of power," Deadline reports.

Will Fillion's cult fanbase give "Community" a ratings boost? That would be cool, cool, cool.

Fillion's "Castle" currently airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. "Community" will return to NBC midseason.
