Rupert Grint Enjoyed Playing Cheetah Chrome In 'CBGB' (VIDEO)

'Harry Potter's' Rupert Grint Happy To Play Someone 'Edgy'

Rupert Grint stars as The Dead Boys' guitarist Cheetah Chrome in "CBGB," a new film about the famed New York rock club that gave big breaks to bands like The Ramones, The Talking Heads and Blondie. In an interview with HuffPost Live's Ricky Camilleri, Grint -- who played Ron Weasley in eight "Harry Potter" films -- said that portraying the outlandish Chrome was a welcome respite from Hogwarts.

"It's sort of refreshing to be a different character on a new set," Grint, who drops his pants in an early "CBGB" scene to show off his pubic hair, told Camilleri. "It wasn't really a conscious decision to play a punk and shock people. [But] it's so nice to play someone a bit more edgy. As much as I loved 'Harry Potter' and everything, this was exciting to be a part of."
