'Vulgar' Senior Prank Caused Thousands Of Dollars In Damage

A senior "prank" at a suburban Chicago high school became no laughing matter when some students went far beyond the tradition of toilet-papering the school.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the prank at Riverside-Brookfield High School -- which entailed spray-painted obscenities, garbage and furniture scattered on the school yard, offensive pictures of staff members -- was deemed "immature, vulgar, insulting, hurtful and destructive" by Principal Pam Bylsma.

Four live chickens were also left inside a baby crib at an entrance to school, the Landmark reports.

As a result, more than 60 students identified as participating in the early Wednesday morning prank are facing disciplinary action -- and may not be allowed to participate in homecoming this weekend, ABC Chicago reports. Some of the students may be charged criminally in the incident.

The damage will cost as much as an estimated $3,500 to fix, according to NBC Chicago.
